History
Florence and Jean-Charles Fournet, respectively a speech therapist and a radiologist, with a passion for wine and agriculture, bought a property in 2005 in the commune of Saint-Romain-en-Gal, on the right bank of the Rhône at an altitude of 360 meters, a stone’s throw from the northernmost plots of Côte-Rôtie. Encouraged by their winegrower friends, and after confirming the high quality of the terroirs on the property through geological soil analysis, they embarked on their winegrowing adventure. Clearing the hillsides, planting, selecting the best vines and rootstocks, renovating the farm buildings to create a winery, cellars and logistics – nothing was left to chance to produce wines that lived up to their expectations and ambitions. From the outset, as the Fournet family’s home, the practice of biodynamic agriculture and agroforestry was self-evident.

CUVÉE
This cuvée originates from a plot located in Bois-Devay, at an altitude of 370 meters, with a northeast exposure.
SOIL GEOLOGY
The soil primarily consists of micaschist.
GRAPE VARIETY
100% Viognier.
CULTIVATION METHOD
The entire estate is managed according to biodynamic principles: soil cultivation, no herbicides or other synthetic products, massal selections, cover cropping of vine rows, spraying of herbal teas and plant decoctions, agroforestry, non-mutilating vine pruning method, and green harvesting to limit yields.
PRODUCTION
539 bottles.
VINIFICATION
Manual harvesting in crates on September 28, 2023. A significant selective sorting was carried out on the vine in the plot to select grapes at optimal ripeness, followed by a second sorting at the press. Direct pressing of whole clusters in a vertical press, slow and gentle, to extract the highest quality juice. 24-hour cold settling. Racking into a 4-wine demi-muid at the beginning of alcoholic fermentation. Malolactic fermentation in barrels. After 10 months of aging, 100% in wood, this wine was bottled without any added sulfites on April 2, 2024, on a fruit day.
TASTING
The tension from the rocks and the delicate aromatics of Viognier, with notes of white flowers and pear. This cuvée, with no added sulfites, remains on edge with a striking tension.
